Quick Update (Outside Academy)

The outside of the Academy is shaping up nicely. It was based on a academy in a random anime I watched this winter, so try guessing which. I've also implemented Day/night cycles, with the sun moving in conjunction with time. I've looked at a few alternative shaders (not in the picture) and have found a pretty decent one that does toons and shadows pretty well. I have also checked out Illusion's upcoming title "Koikatu", and I'm somewhat inspired to see if I can reach that visual fidelity myself. Then again it might not be wise to compare myself to a company that is filled with industry veterans. Either way I will se what I can do.

    Also certainly agree that Koikatu is pretty impressive. Although I'd say they over did it with customization (having sliders for literally everything). I hope they'll include a simplified mode as it's too easy for me to end up with bad results (Well then again maybe it does have that I just couldn't find it as its all in JP).

    1. Illusion's games usually had "basic" and "advanced" customization modes in previous titles. Or maybe I'm mixing it up with some other company's games. Either way I find myself spending an embarassing ammount of time just fiddling with sliders.

    1. Didn't get a mail notification for some reason (checking mail every weekend). Either way, I basically became a commuting wageslave. Reason I didn't mention it was simply because I thought it would be short term. Either way I refunded everything I could on patreon and freezed the page back in the summer 2018. I won't lie, the game is most likely dead for now, at least any hope of update posts and such, I've never been the blogger type anyway. If I get a proper contract in the future, I might be able to rid myself of the commuting problem, in turn freeing up time again.

      While commuting I've been thinking of what I can do with this situation. I was thinking of either simplifying my orginal plan for the game or make small and compact games and release them "finished" on the blog, just to have some actual content made. Up for suggestions, although the other small games might be more "realistic" right now.

      I am sorry things are like this right now. As always, really appreciate your interest, especially after all this time.

    2. Sorry for the extremely long delay, I hadn't enabled the notification button and honestly had forgotten about the project, was only just reminded of it today and decided to check up on it.

      If you've personally lost interest in the project then that's understandable, if not then I'd still like to see were you take it. As I've probably mentioned in the past, I would love to see more /d/ content games. Smaller projects sounds fair and the assets & code you build up from them could go towards this project in future.

    3. No problem, I've been slow on the responses myself. I haven't lost interest, but my focus have been on my career, which I am soon able to reap the benefits of. As for what fetishes the small games might have, there is no real limit except the fetishes' tedium and motivation to do them. without dragging this on, I've been a degenerate long enough for /d/ to seem pretty tame, so no worries.

    4. Ah, to be clear I was mentioning fetishes because there seem to be very few fetishy games produced by the weg community, let alone ones with /d/ material. The vast majority seem to be incest & (poorly done) corruption. Guess they're not willing to try things that aren't guaranteed to rake in the patreon bucks.
